The formation of plaque is a natural process, however it can have unpleasent or particularly damaging effects.
The most common reason behind the emergence of the painfull, long-term or recurring gingivitis is the formation of tooth scales.
The inflamation of gingivals subserves the retraction of gum which causes the loosening of theet, and eventually an early tooth-loss.
These harmful effects can be prevented by regularly removing the scales from the theet.
The removal is done with vibrating instrument, called an ultrasonic depurator. The procedure does not involve considerable pain, it may just feel unpleasant.
